Approximately 70 civilian employers had the opportunity to learn what their military employees do during the 445th Airlift Wing’s Employers Day held Nov. 5, 2016. The employers, joined by 35 reservists, enjoyed breakfast and lunch, received a C-17 Globemaster III flight, participated in tours and demonstrations of the different jobs and training that their Air Force Reserve employees do when performing military service. Airmen from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, flew from Christchurch, New Zealand to McMurdo Station, Antarctica Oct. 21, tracing a similar flight pattern to one flown 60 years earlier. The flight commemorated the first ever Air Force Antarctic flight flown in a Douglas C-124 Globemaster II, named “Miss North Carolina” Oct. 21, 1956.

Senior leaders from the Air Force Reserve Command’s 302nd Airlift Wing salute a C-130H aircraft departing Peterson Air Force Base's flightline. The 302nd AW’s year began with approximately 150 Air Force Reservists and four C-130 aircraft leaving Colorado to spend four-months deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in support of Operations Freedom’s Sentinel and Inherent Resolve. While deployed, the Airmen provided C-130 airlift support to include airlift, airdrop and aeromedical evacuation to U.S. Central Command operations throughout Southwest Asia.
