  • Commander posthumously awards MSM to fallen AFRC member

    Lt. Gen. Maryanne Miller, commander, Air Force Reserve Command, posthumously presented the meritorious service medal January 27, 2018, to Albert and Shirley Adams, the family of the late Master Sgt Sophia Gibbs. Gibbs worked for AFRC Recruiting Service as the NCOIC, force management and customer service. In addition to receiving the MSM, the family was given a shadow box and coin display from her recruiting service family.

    Senior leaders from the military reserve components testified before the House Appropriations Sub-Committee for Defense on readiness and the President’s fiscal year 2018 budget request May 24.
  • Miller takes AFRC helm July 15

    Maj. Gen. Maryann Miller will become the Chief of the Air Force Reserve and take command of Air Force Reserve Command during a change of command ceremony at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, July 15. Miller will become the first female in the history of the Air Force Reserve to be Chief of the Air Force Reserve and commander of the Air Force Reserve Command. Before taking command, Miller will be promoted to Lieutenant General.
