This artwork was created in freehand sketch using Wacom tablet and Adobe Photoshop. The layout composition was designed to tell the story of a World War II veteran, Sergeant Allen McDonald, a cavalryman assigned to the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry in Camp Drake, Japan, where he met his Japanese wife. The theme behind the artwork was to show the clash between cultures during post war. This piece was created to support the annual Palo Alto Veterans Hospital Art Exposition, Palo Alto, Calif., April 23, 2014. (U.S. Air Force art by Master Sgt. Elizabeth Concepcion)
