Master Sgt. Jason Bigart discusses effient running with Dr. Eppolito

Dr. (Lt. Col.) Antonio Eppolito (left), Chief of Air Force Telehealth, discusses the benefits of Efficient Running with Master Sgt. Jason Bigart, a quality assurance specialist with the 440th Maintenance Group, during an Efficient Running Course in the Hercules Gym at Pope Field, N.C., on Sept. 8, 2013. Efficient Running transitions runners to a “barefoot-style” of running, where the athlete’s foot impacts the ground with the ball or mid-foot rather than the heel, said Eppolito. “I knew before this class that I was supposed to run on the balls of my feet, but it’s tough to do in my athletic shoes,” said Bigart, a Milwaukee, Wis., native. “The class made a lot of sense.” The 440th Airlift Wing is currently training for worldwide deployment.
