Citizen Airmen of the 815th Airlfit Squadron takeoff in a C-130J-30 Super Hercules headed for Southwest Asia in this 2004 file photo. The "Flying Jennies" helped prove the airframe was exactly what commanders in the theater needed to support their airlift requirements in this first deployment of the aircraft by the U.S. Air Force. Today, the Flying Jennies are gearing up for another rotation to provide combat-multiplying capabilities to resupply forces, improve combatant commander?s airlift requirements and employment operations within the combat zone or forward areas, and when requested, provide aeromedical evacuation and augment strategic airlift forces.
