The first two A-10s from the 926th Fighter Wing, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, La., arrive at the 442nd Fighter Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command unit at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., Feb. 24. The 442nd FW has since received six additional A-10s as part of the base realignment and closure decision. A ninth aircraft is scheduled to arrive in June. The aircraft are on loan to 442nd FW pending a formal acceptance process, including an environmental impact assessment.
