Thunder alley
An A-10 from the 355th Wing at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., delivers a volley of 30mm rounds to a stationary ground target during the Hawgsmoke A-10 gunnery and bombing competition at the Barry Goldwater Range complex in Arizona. Four pilots from Air Force Reserve Commands 442nd Fighter Wing, 303rd Fighter Squadron took first place overall in the competition March 22-25 flying aircraft from the 355th Wing, as their own A-10s are being prepared for an overseas deployment.
