Coyote Crisis Campaign
Master Sgt. Darin Andsager, 944th Medical Squadron, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., assembles a mobile medical hospital during a regional training exercise April 3, 2006, at Papago Military Reservation in Phoenix. The hospital, also called an Expeditionary Medical Support Facility, is used for local emergencies much like those used during the Hurricane Katrina disaster or during deployed operations. About 500 military members, including active duty, Guard and Reserve, from across the United States are currently undergoing medical training including triage, medical command and control, medical air evacuation, patient management and transportation, and wound care as part of the "Coyote Crisis Campaign." Also participating in the campaign is the city of Scottsdale, Scottsdale Healthcare and General Dynamics. The training received during this exercise allows military members to work closely with community medical assets to prepare for events like natural disasters or terrorist attacks.
