PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla.- Space Shuttle Atlantis lifts off at Kennedy Space Center July 8, 2011. The Guardian Angel Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing were on the scene in support of the shuttle launch in the case of a shuttle emergency. The 920th RQW provides rescue support for all NASA space shuttle missions, including safety and security surveillance of the Eastern Range during all launches from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Kennedy Space Center.
