Air Force Reserve Col. Jay Pittman, Jr., presents his "challenge coin" July 13, 2012, to Tyler Allison, a general manager with Colorado Springs Utilities, at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Allison employs an Air Force Reservist and attended the 302nd Airlift Wing's annual Employer Appreciation Day, which recognizes the support and sacrifices of employers whose employee also serves their country in uniform. Employers were also introduced to the Colorado State Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense volunteer program that facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service.
