Citizen Airman among best in AF Published July 20, 2016 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Staff Sergeant Aaron Tobler has been selected by Air Force officials as one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year in 2016 for the Air Force this week. The award recognizes the top enlisted Airmen for their unique individual achievements in leadership, job performance, significant self-improvement, and community involvement. The Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, a general officer and selected major command Chiefs form the selection board. “We are very proud of Staff Sergeant Tobler for this outstanding achievement,” said Chief Master Sergeant Ericka Kelly, command chief for the Air Force Reserve Command. “Aaron personifies the superior leadership and achievement we have grown to expect from all our Citizen Airmen." Tobler, assigned to the 50th Intelligence Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, California, will be awarded the Outstanding Airmen ribbon with the bronze service star device and wear the Outstanding Airman badge for one year. The Air Force Association honors the 12 Outstanding Airmen at its annual convention in Washington D.C on Sept. 19.
