Philebaum took control of the 932nd Airlift Wing during a change of command ceremony here Feb. 7. Fourth Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. John C. Flournoy presided over the event in which Col. Karl E. Goerke relinquished command to Philebaum. As commander of the 932nd AW, Philebaum is responsible for ensuring the execution of the wing's mission to provide mission-ready Citizen Airmen supporting national interests worldwide, including distinguished visitor airlift, expeditionary combat support, and aeromedical care. Philebaum most recently served as commander of the 512th Operations Group at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, where he oversaw Air Force Reserve flying operations and worldwide employment of the C-5M Super Galaxy and C-17A Globemaster III. Goerke now serves as senior chief of the Deployment Distribution Operations Center at U.S. Transportation Command at Scott AFB.
