The chief of the Air Force Reserve has released an update to the Air Force Reserve Vision and Guiding Principles document.

The Air Force Reserve 2015 Vision Update is intended as a companion document to the 2013 Air Force Reserve Vision and Guiding Principles,, according to Lt. Gen. James F. Jackson, chief of AF Reserve and commander, Air Force Reserve Command. The document builds on the AF Reserve's vision by incorporating key concepts from the the National Security Strategy, and Air Force strategy documents such as America's Air Force: A Call to the Future and the USAF Strategic Master Plan.

The commander emphasized the responsibility of all Reservists to educate and advocate for the capability the Reserve provides to the Air Force.

"In this era of rapid global change and uncertainty, the 2015 Vision Update provides a clear vector to aid in developing future plans, programs, and force management actions for the Air Force Reserve.  It is vitally important that we capture the lessons learned over the past decades and prepare to respond to an even more challenging future," Jackson said.
