Reserve historians make award history Published May 7, 2015 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Air Force Reserve Command Historians, well, made history this week by winning Air Force level awards. The AFRC History Office won the John T. Born Award as the Air Force's best MAJCOM History Office. Additionally, Tech Sgt. Denise Flory, 302nd Airlift Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, won the coveted Robert Futrell Award for excellence in historical publications for her study on the 2012-2013 Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System season. Each of these wins mark firsts for the command. Finally, Maj Kathy Jimenez, who works as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee in the Air Force Medical Service History Office, won the Air Force Heritage Award. Lt. Gen. James F. “JJ” Jackson, AFRC commander, said in his congratulatory communique, “This ground-breaking recognition is representative of the incredible body of work our Citizen Airmen continue to bring to today's fight and the outstanding job our historians do to preserve our story."
