Air Force Reserve lieutenant colonel line and nonline position vacancy promotion recommendation forms are due to Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center promotion secretariat by April 25.

Promotion under the PV program helps maintain a balanced force by giving commanders the means to nominate exceptionally well qualified candidates for early promotions.

Senior raters base their recommendation on individual merit and demonstrated potential for service in the higher grade.

Officers are not entitled to a PV nomination simply because they occupy a higher graded position or because of their seniority to any other officer.

The criteria for PV nominations are outlined in AFI 36-2504, Officer Promotion, Continuation, and Selective Early Removal in the Reserve of the Air Force, chapter 2.

"The deadline is approaching fast for getting PV PRFs to us," said Maj. Susie Murphy, chief of Promotion Eligibility Division. "We are starting to get PRFs now, but we want to get the word out to maximize the number of qualified candidates."
