WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- A ceremony marking the official activation of the 14th Intelligence Squadron will take place at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center May 17 beginning at 2 p.m.
The squadron is part of the latest intelligence transformation initiative by the Air Force Reserve Command. The 14th IS will create a unique acquisition intelligence capability for reservists, conducting intelligence analysis and assessments for Air Force Materiel Command.
The squadron will support the 21st Intelligence Squadron, a 55-member active-duty unit assigned to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, and work in collaboration with the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. These four organizations are located at Wright-Patterson AFB.
The 14th IS reports to the 655th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group at Wright-Patterson AFB. The group oversees 11 Reserve intelligence squadrons in six states.
