Bowman takes command of 340th Flying Training Group

Col. Brian "Bowwow" Bowman took command of the 340th Flying Training Group here May 2 during an assumption of command ceremony officiated by Maj. Gen. Mark A. Kyle, 22nd Air Force commander.

 As commander of the 340th FTG, Bowman is responsible for the overall success of the Air Education and Training Command and Air Force Reserve Command Reserve Instructor Program, which trains and provides experienced instructor pilots, jump masters, and Basic Military Training instructors to augment AETC's instructor force. 

Bowman commands more than 600 people in seven squadron at bases throughout the United States. The 340th reports to 22nd Air Force (AFRC) during peacetime and to AETC in the event of mobilization.
