ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Residents of Middle Georgia can attend a free Air Force band concert Sept. 2 at the Museum of Aviation's amphitheater in Warner Robins.
Sky Country, the newest ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Band of the West from Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, will take the stage at 7 p.m. If the weather is inclement, the concert will be moved to the museum's Century of Flight Hangar.
The concert will be the first of its kind since the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve was inactivated last year.
"We are excited to be playing at Robins once again," said Big Country guitarist Staff Sgt. Josh Byrd. "We are looking forward to seeing many of our old friends in the audience," added Big Country percussionist Staff Sgt. Andrew Wendzikowski.
The former members of the Reserve band performed with top recording artists such as Josh Turner, Kelly Clarkson and Brad Paisley.
Byrd, Wendzikowski and the other members of Sky Country are expected to once again captivate Robins AFB with their versatility, broad repertoire, and show-stopping energy. From classic and contemporary country music to R&B, Rock, and Jazz, Sky Country can do it all.
After the Reserve band was inactivated, the Air Force restructured its regional bands and included the Southeast and Robins AFB in the Band of the West's geographical area of responsibility.
