Air Force Reserve spouses earn education scholarships Published Oct. 25, 2005 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The wives of three Air Force Reserve Command reservists will receive $1,000 scholarships to further their education. Jacquelyn Gaiters-Jordan, Susan Mattes-Bostian, Joy Supplee and 27 other Air Force spouses earned the Air Force Association’s 2005 Aerospace Education Foundation Spouse Scholarships. Mrs. Gaiters-Jordan is the wife of Tech. Sgt. Ronald Jordan who is assigned to the 302nd Maintenance Squadron, Peterson AFB, Colo. Mrs. Mattes-Bostian is married to Tech. Sgt. Thomas R. Bostian of the 913th MXS, Willow Grove Air Reserve Station, Pa. Mrs. Supplee’s husband, Chaplain (Maj.) Carl E. Supplee, is with the 446th Airlift Wing, McChord AFB, Wash. They can use the money to pay for tuition, books and related school expenses in the pursuit of undergraduate and graduate degrees. In addition to being an Air Force spouse, they had to carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, prove acceptance to an accredited college or university, write an essay about their goals and submit two letters of recommendation. March 31 was the deadline. AFA announced its selections in June.
