Command names airfield operations award winners

Dobbins Air Reserve Base outside of Atlanta landed half of Air Force Reserve Command’s airfield operations awards for 2005.

In a March 16 letter to commanders, AFRC officials announced the selection of the Dobbins ARB tower/ground controlled approach as the best air traffic control facility in the command.

Clarence L. Miller and David A. Seal of Dobbins’ 94th Operations Group won the airfield operations manager and the air traffic control manager awards, respectively. Dobbins’ Henry J. Von Ruden was named the top air traffic control controller in charge.

Robert B. Moore and Michael J. Lang of the 434th Operations Support Squadron at Grissom ARB, Ind., won the civilian air traffic controller and terminal procedures specialist awards, respectively.

Tech. Sgt. Anthony D. Garrett of the 315th OSS, Charleston AFB, S.C., earned the airfield management NCO award.

The air traffic control training achievement award went to John E. Martin of the 452nd OSS, March ARB, Calif. (AFRC News Service)
