Command nominates Californian for humanitarian award Published May 11, 2006 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The chairperson of the chamber of commerce’s military affairs committee in Moreno Valley, Calif., is Air Force Reserve Command’s nominee for the 2006 Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award. “Ms. Laura Froehlich is a prime example of our future leaders and provides positive contributions to the mission of the Air Force Reserve Command,” wrote Maj. Gen. Allan R. Poulin, AFRC vice commander. Headquarters AFRC officials announced Ms. Froehlich’s selection May 5. Established in 1996, the Department of Defense-level award honors the Fishers for their contributions to the support and welfare of members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Each year the services submit a nominee to compete for the award. The award consists of a large trophy with the annual recipient’s name engraved on brass plates. The trophy remains on display in the Pentagon and is removed only for the annual presentation ceremony. Award recipients receive medallions and lapel pins. (AFRC News Service)
