Air Force Reserve to inactivate 6 units Published April 24, 2007 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Air Force Reserve Command will inactivate five geographically separated squadrons and one detachment this year. Command officials briefed congressional leaders about these actions in mid-April. The inactivations eliminate 12 fulltime and 543 part-time traditional reservist positions as of Nov. 30. The locations, units and manpower authorizations are: - Fairchild AFB, Wash., 604th Medical Squadron, two full-time and 59 part-time - Kirtland AFB, N.M., 704th MDS, two full time and 59 part-time - Fort Hamilton, N.Y., 722nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron, one full time and 106 part-time - Greenville, S.C., 84th Aerial Port Squadron, three full time and 129 part-time - Wyoming City, Pa., 92nd APS, three full time and 129 part-time - Morgantown, W.Va., Det. 1, 911th Civil Engineer Squadron, one full time and 61 part-time These actions are part of AFRC reductions and support future Air Force missions. AFRC officials will work to place people assigned to these units at other command units through the job-placement database or "clearing house."
