The 315th Airlift Wing here in partnership with Comcast Cable Television of Charleston is producing a monthly news-talk television show called Troop Talk.

Troop Talk reaches more than 110,000 households throughout the Charleston television market and showcases to the community the efforts of Charleston AFB and the 315th AW.

Each 30-minute show runs during the first week of each month on Comcast C-2 with repeat airings throughout that week, giving viewers five different times to watch the program during that week.

The first episode of Troop Talk aired at 8:30 p.m. May 2. It showed the missions of the host active-duty 437th AW and Air Force Reserve Command's 315th AW. The episode also highlighted the mission of the Charleston's explosive ordnance disposal team during the "In The Trenches," video segment along with a stop at the local Veterans Administration hospital.

Capt. Wayne Capps, chief of public affairs for the 315th AW, hosted the show. Members of both wing public affairs offices produced segments for the program.

"This is an exciting way to show our community what goes on here at the wing," said Major Bill Walsh, Reserve public affairs officer for the 315th AW and executive producer of the program. "It's our way of telling the Air Force story direct to the viewers with no filters."

One segment of each show will feature the VA or other military units in the Charleston area such as the naval weapons station, Coast Guard group, and Army and Marine Corps units.

"We're going to open up the show to all military installations in the area to give them a vehicle to let the community know about the great things military members are doing right here at home and deployed," said Major Walsh.
