  • Published
Airplanes and helicopters from across the United States arrived in nearby Fort Lauderdale May 3 to give spectators a small taste of the airpower, air superiority and search-and-rescue capabilities provided by the Air Force.

Fort Lauderdale Air and Sea Show's aerial displays and demonstrations took place May 5-6.

F-16 fighter jets from Air Force Reserve Command's 482nd Fighter Wing here launched each day's festivities. Meanwhile, reservists from the command's 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., demonstrated their combat search and rescue skills to the crowd.

Other performances included the Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 aerial demonstration team and the F-22A Raptor. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service from a 482nd FW news release)
