Maj. Bill Walsh, reserve public affairs officer for the Air Force Reserve Command unit here, was nominated for Television Crafts Achievement Excellence for best writer for a public service announcement, promo or commercial. The 4-minute video about the wing's mission aired as a public service announcement on several local television outlets. "We wanted to produce a public service piece that showcased one of the best wings in the Air Force Reserve, and I'm thrilled the National Academy nominated it for an Emmy," said Major Walsh. He is no stranger to the Emmy Awards program. In his civilian career as the chief meteorologist for a local television station, he won two Emmys. This is his fourth Emmy nomination. Major Walsh will attend the Emmy Awards gala June 23 in Atlanta, where the award winners will be announced. "This is super news and reflects the hard work of our entire public affairs office," said Major Walsh. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service)
