Jason Tudor AFRC Recruiting Service Public Affairs NCO ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The Air Force Reserve's top recruiter in 2008 is the first to meet his annual recruiting goal for the new fiscal year and isn't resting on his laurels for the remaining nine months. Master Sgt. Kevin French's three accessions Dec. 1 pushed him to his goal of 44. The Tampa, Fla., based recruiter started the year by enlisting 14 new Airmen in one day. Success is all about planning ahead said the former minor league baseball player and Reserve recruiter of better than three years. "I wanted to get done with it as quickly as I could so I could ensure spending some time with my family," Sergeant French said. "I also like to control my own fate. So, I stayed focused on goal and tried to be as 'low maintenance' as possible." The winner of Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting Service's Colonel Mike Mungavin Award for best recruiter, Sergeant French is also a member of Reserve Recruiting Service's Century Club. The club recognizes recruiters who attain 150 percent or better of their goal during a fiscal year. Chief Master Sgt. Mike Bibby, Reserve recruiting service manager, praised Sergeant French's effort to be the first recruiter to "make goal." "It's simply outstanding performance," he said. "Kevin is a professional in every regard and his performance this fiscal year proves that. Well done." As of Dec. 5, the Air Force Reserve recruited better than 1,700 people. The goal is 8,800 by Sept. 30.
