Air Force Reserve picks best ISR people, programs for 2008

Air Force Reserve Command officials announced March 16 the top reservists, civilians and programs in the command's intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance community for 2008.

The award winners by category are:

Field grade officer - Level I, Lt. Col. Robert Rhoden, Headquarters AFRC, Robins AFB, and Level II, Lt. Col. John Kitchell, 440th Operations Support Squadron, Pope AFB, N.C.

Officer - Level I, Capt. Tayebeh Knipp, Detachment 5, 10th Air Force, Beale AFB, Calif., and Level II, Capt. Brian Brooks, 919th OSS, Duke Field, Fla.

Senior NCO - Level I, Senior Master Sgt. Ryan Gallagher, HQ AFRC, Robins AFB, and Level II, Master Sgt. Salvatore Rinaldi, 8th Space Warning Squadron, Buckley AFB, Colo.

NCO - Level II, Tech. Sgt. Charles Wells, 919th OSS, Duke Field

Airman - Level II, Senior Airman Keith Smith, 911th Operations Support Flight, Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pa.

Civilian, GS-11 to GS-13 - Level I, Eugene Ziemba, HQ AFRC, Robins AFB, and Level II, Brian Harris, 919th OSS, Duke Field

Civilian, GS-5 to GS-10 - Level II, Roger Suttles, 710th Information Operations Flight, Brooks City Base, Texas

Operations support unit - 459th OSF, Andrews AFB, Md.

Intelligence/information unit - 50th Intelligence Squadron, Beale AFB

In announcing the awards, Lt. Gen. Charles E. Stenner Jr., chief of Air Force Reserve and AFRC commander, said , the quality of nominees reflect the "outstanding contributions our Air Force Reserve Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance team members have made and continue to make around the world."
