Awards recognize flight, ground and aero club safety Published May 19, 2009 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Air Force Reserve Command received six Air Force Chief of Staff Safety Awards for 2008. "The Air Force had many safety achievements to be proud of in 2008, including the fewest-ever off-duty vehicle fatalities," said Maj. Gen. Frederick Roggero, Air Force chief of safety, in announcing the awards earlier this spring. "These awards highlight the innovation, dedication and superb performance we see every day." Flight safety plaques went to four AFRC units. They are the 315th Airlift Wing, Charleston AFB, S.C.; 339th Flight Test Squadron, Robins AFB; 940th Air Refueling Wing, Beale AFB, Calif.; and 10th FLTS, Tinker AFB, Okla. The 315th AW was also a recipient of a ground safety plaque. The aero club at March Air Reserve Base, Calif., was awarded a safety certificate. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service)
