Air Force Reserve picks Verne Orr Award nominee Published Feb. 25, 2010 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting Service is the command's nominee for the 2010 Verne Orr Award. Established by the Air Force Association in honor of Verne Orr, a former secretary of the Air Force, the award is presented annually. The award recognizes any unit, regardless of size, that excels above all others in using its people to achieve the unit's full potential and accomplish the mission. The Air Force will announce its award selection this summer. The award will be presented in Washington, D.C., in September and will then go on permanent display in the Pentagon along with previous winners. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service) USAF.
