ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- A senior chaplain assigned to Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command died Sept. 21 while on temporary duty to Joint Base Andrews, Md.
Chaplain (Col.) Charles M. Bolin was on active-duty orders at the time. He told his wife, who went with him to Andrews, that he was going jogging.
At about 6 p.m., a passerby found Chaplain Bolin collapsed in the parking lot outside Building 1535. The person started cardiopulmonary resuscitation and called 911.
The Andrews Emergency Department responded and transported Chaplain Bolin to the Malcolm Grow Medical Center's emergency room where a medical team tried to revive him. The attempts to revive him failed, and Chaplain Bolin was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack at 6:23 p.m.
