The 315th Services Flight and the 315th Mission Support Squadron have merged thus creating the 315th Force Support Squadron. Lieutenant Colonel Maureen Robinson officially took command of the new 315th FSS in a ceremony officiated by Lt. Col. Andrew Leone, 315th Mission Support Group commander on 5 Nov.

According to Lt. Col. Leone, the units combined as part of the ongoing Air Force customer service transformation and the result will be better customer service and more efficient operations.

"The new FSS will carry on a fine tradition in their new mission," said Lt. Col. Leone. "Change is a part of the military and our flexibility is key."

Lt. Col. Connie Alge, outgoing 315th SVS commander says the base will benefit from a more streamlined, consistent process that will that will continue the first class customer service both units provided in the past.

"With the experience of both of these organizations, the new FSS will be able to take care of our people who in turn take care of the mission," said Lt. Col. Alge.

Lt. Col. Robinson does not anticipate any problems with these units combining.

"The services squadron and the mission support squadron are two of the most hardworking, professional organizations in the wing. I'm very humbled to be here and to lead them while we continue our mission."

The new squadron will have the same responsibilities both the mission support and services flights had previously. Approximately 110 Airmen are expected to comprise the new FSS.
