The base played host to approximately 200,000 people April 15-17 here for Air Power Expo 2011 -- the annual open house and air show.

While the U.S. Navy units based here planned and executed the event, many Air Force Reservists from the 301st Fighter Wing participated and supported the expo in various roles.

Military acts at this year's show included the U.S. Special Operations Command's parachute demonstration team, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Air Force's West Coast A-10 Thunderbolt demonstration team, F-18 Hornets from the "River Rattlers" Navy Reserve unit at NAS New Orleans, La., and several static displays.
