Daughtry, Iglesias, Reserve Band begin Tour for Troops

Rock Band Daughtry, comedian Gabriel Iglesias and members of the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve departed from here Nov. 28 for a 13-day, six concert swing through Southwest Asia and Europe to bring entertainment to American troops and their families as part of Operation Seasons Greetings - Tour for the Troops 2011.

Sponsored by the Air Force Reserve Command, Tour for the Troops performers will visit Ramstein Air Base and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany; Incirlik AB, Turkey and deployed locations in Southwest Asia.

Reserve Generation from the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve will perform the opening act for the shows - playing well-known pop and contemporary favorites.

Quintuple-platinum, Grammy-nominated Daughtry was an American Idol Season 5 finalist in 2006. A self-titled album was number one in Billboard Top 200 in 2006 and sold four million copies in 2007. Since 2007, Daughtry has toured non-stop, playing in the U.S., Canada, Singapore, Australia and Europe. The group has more than 2 million fans on Facebook.

Iglesias is described as an unbelievably funny comedian with national crossover appeal. Known as the "fluffy" comic in a Hawaiian shirt who often riffs about his girthy middle. He has appeared on "Last Comic Standing," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show," "Showtime at the Apollo" and "BET's Comic View."
