Thunder Over the Valley takes flight for Father's Day weekend Published June 6, 2017 By Senior Airman Jeffrey Grossi 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- A free, public air show is scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m., June 17-18, 2017, at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio. The Thunder Over the Valley Air Show features the world-renowned U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as well as a variety of other military and civilian performances. The first performance of the day will begin at 10:30 a.m., featuring a choreographed sequence of weapon maneuvers, precise tosses and a walkthrough a gauntlet of spinning weapons by the United States Air Force Drill Team.The drill team demonstration will transition into the opening ceremony followed by the day’s aerial demonstrations.Guests can spend part of their Father’s Day weekend exploring a ramp full of static aircraft displays to include a Commemorative Air Force P-51 Mustang and the 757th Airlift Squadron’s very own C-130H Hercules. Free parking for the air show will be provided at remote locations beginning at 8 a.m. As parking locations fill, new locations will be opened. The first bus will leave the primary parking location at 1265 North River Rd. in Warren, Ohio at 8:30 a.m. The last bus will depart for YARS at 2:30 p.m. All who attend will be screened by security prior to getting on a bus.
