Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command is celebrating Public Service Recognition Week May 3 – 9.

The week is set aside to inform the nation about what public employees do, why they do it and how well they perform.  Throughout the week, AFRC is recognizing some of its approximately 13,000 public employees.

Today's featured employee is Christopher Jones.

1) What is your job?

I am a requirements specialist within the Force Generation Center. I am the focal point for utilizing the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System to source, verify, and validate AFRC requirements that support the Combatant Commanders

2) Why did you decide on a government job?

Six years ago, I had recently retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service as a logistics planner. I wanted to continue my relationship with the Air Force and decided to apply for civil service and contracting jobs at Robins AFB.

3) What is your favorite thing about your job?

I like supporting the Citizen Airman.

4) How do you think your job impacts the organization?

In a nutshell, we manage the system that is used by the Joint community to help the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense to decide when to commit the U.S. military. This system is crucial in identifying what, when, where, and how AFRC assets will be utilized to support the Combatant Commanders

5) What are some of your personal and professional goals?

Personally, I want to be a good mentor. What I mean by that is to pass on the wisdom and knowledge that I have received over the years from those who have come before me. Professionally, I have always wanted to develop my own business.
