No snow day for Hill maintainers, pilots prepping to deploy Published Dec. 8, 2013 By Senior Airman Crystal Charriere 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- A crew chief from the 419th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron conducts preflight checks as part of training for an upcoming deployment to the Asia-Pacific region. More than 144 maintainers and pilots suited up in chemical gear and battled a day-long snow storm Saturday. "This is really important training," said Major Eileen Frock, an aircraft maintenance officer in the 419th AMXS. "When they deploy, they will be going through regular exercises and inspections. This is just a refresher, so members will be more than ready to go when the time comes."
