Command wins awards in Air Force Media Contest

Air Force Reserve Command Airmen and civilian employees took four first-place, five second-place and four third-place awards in the 2013 Air Force Media Contest.

Results of the contest were announced in an email March 13.

"The contest is designed to inspire and reward excellence and professionalism in Air Force Public Affairs communicators and to educate, motivate and inform Airmen, their families and the public of the outstanding job performed daily by our armed forces," said Col. Kathleen Cook, director of Air Force Public Affairs.

The AFRC award winners are:

First-place - Website - 507th Air Refueling Wing, Tinker AFB, Okla.; Sports Photograph - Tech. Sgt. Samuel King Jr., 919th Special Operations Wing, Duke Field, Fla.; and Television News Report and Television Sports Report - Staff Sgt. Brent Skeen, 459th ARW, Joint Base Andrews, Md. Second place - Series - Maj. Marnee Losurdo, 403rd Wing, Keesler AFB, Miss.; Outstanding New Writer - Senior Airman Mark Hybers, 507th ARW, Tinker AFB; Air Force Military Print Journalist of the Year - Tech. Sgt. Anna-Marie Wyant, 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick AFB, Fla.; Documentation Photo - Staff Sgt. Daniel Delgado, 920th RQW, Patrick AFB; and Portrait/Personality Photo - Tech. Sgt. Efren Lopez, 4th Combat Camera Squadron, March Air Reserve Base, Calif.

Third place - Photojournalism - King, 919th SOW, Duke Field; Graphics Animation - Keith Langsdorf, 934th Airlift Wing, Minneapolis-St. Paul Air Reserve Station, Minn. (click here to view); Regional Television Newscast - Master Sgt. Chance Babin, Headquarters AFRC, Robins AFB; and Television Newsbreak - Manuel Smith Headquarters AFRC, Robins AFB.

The contest took place in February at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.
