Pittsburgh dining facility best in command again, again Published March 21, 2008 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- For the third year in a row, the Long Dining Facility at Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pa., won the title of best dining facility in Air Force Reserve Command. In addition to winning the command's 2008 John L. Hennessy Award, the Pittsburgh dining facility staff took the same award in 2007, 2006, 2004, 1999, 1996, 1995 and 1993. Maj. Gen. Allan R. Poulin, AFRC vice commander, announced this year's award March 11. Although good-tasting food is important, it's not the only ingredient for success. Food service is evaluated in five major categories - kitchen operations; serving and dining operations; training, personnel and readiness; sanitation and repair maintenance; and management. Each year the Air Force Reserve, the Regular Air Force and the Air National Guard select the best dining facilities in their respective categories. Reservists from the Pittsburgh dining facility staff, along with the winning representatives from the active force and the Guard, will receive their awards during an awards banquet at the National Restaurant Association convention in Chicago in May.
