Air Force Reserve names top finance people

Air Force Reserve Command selected three offices and a dozen people for command financial management and comptroller awards for 2008.

The financial analysis office and financial services office for the 440th Airlift Wing, Pope AFB, N.C., were named the best offices in the command. The 911th AW, Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pa., has the best financial management and comptroller organization.

Individual award winners are:

Maj. Gen. Frank R. Faykes Financial Management and Comptroller of the Year - Maj. David Ferguson, 340th Flying Training Group, Randolph AFB, Texas

FM civilian (GS-9 and above, Pay band 2) - Horacio Campillo, 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla.

FM civilian (GS-8 and below, Pay band 1) - LeRoy Voight, 934th AW, Minneapolis-St. Paul IA PARS, Minn.

FM officer - 1st Lt. Lester Quade, 301st FW, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas

FM senior NCO - Senior Master Sgt. Beth Joiner, 440th AW, Pope AFB

FM NCO - Tech. Sgt. Jason Daniels, 340th FTG, Randolph AFB

FM airman - Senior Airman Jeremy Lawson, 911th AW, Pittsburgh IAP ARS

Resource advisor - Lt. Col. Faustino Peres, 13th Reconnaissance Squadron, Beale AFB, Calif.

Acquisition cost analyst - Lori Cook, 910th AW, Youngstown ARS, Ohio

Superintendent - Master Sgt. Morris Jefferson, 340th FTG, Randolph AFB

James E. Short Outstanding Contribution to Mentorship and Career Development - Lt. Col. Charles Cooper, 434th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom ARB, Ind.
