Air Force Reserve officers move, stay to take promotions

This spring some reservists are moving to other states to take Air Force Reserve Command senior office assignments while others are staying in their local areas and moving up in the command.

Brig. Gen. Howard N. Thompson was mobilization assistant to the Air Force chief of staff in the Pentagon until March when he moved in the 'building" to become deputy to the chief of Air Force Reserve.

Col. Richard W. Scobee took command of the 301st Fighter Wing at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, in a ceremony April 5. Colonel Scobee previously commanded the 944th FW at Luke AFB, Ariz.

Col. Michael G. Popovich was the vice commander when he moved up to take command of Luke's 944th FW on April 4.

At Duke Field, Fla., Col. Jon S. Weeks also stepped up April 4 from vice commander to commander of the 919th Special Operation Wing. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service)
