  • Published
The Double Deuces, a five-person team from Air Force Reserve Command's 477th Fighter Group, took part in the first-ever Hero Games in downtown Anchorage, Alaska, June 27.

The games were part of Alaska's 50th Anniversary Celebration and sponsored by the Anchorage Downtown Partnership.

Teams of service members from the Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and Regular Air Force, and local firefighters, police officers and first responders competed against each other in a variety of events. Those events included an obstacle course, water balloon volleyball, tricycle race, tug-of-war, litter carry, and a bucket brigade vehicle tow.

Out of 12 teams, the Super Guardians from the Air National Guard took first place, and the Anchorage Fire Department came in second. The Double Deuces finished fourth. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service)
