Photographer wins award, others place in contest

A photographer from Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass., won an award, and people from four other bases placed in the Air Force Media Contest.

According to an announcement April 6, Staff Sgt. Hueming Mui from Westover's 439th Airlift Wing took first place in the Portrait/Personality Photograph category.

Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey S. Williams, 934th AW, Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport Air Reserve Station, Minn., finished second in the Print Journalist of the Year category. Tech. Sgt. Ryan Labadens, 403rd Wing, Keesler AFB, Miss., took second place in the Art/Graphics category.

Tech. Sgt. Shawn McCowan, 301st Fighter Wing, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, came in third in the Series category. The 94th AW Public Affairs Office, Dobbins ARB, Ga., posted a third-place finish in the Web-based Publication category.

Sergeant Mui's entry entitled "Keeping Dad Nearby" advanced to the Department of Defense's Thomas Jefferson competition, where it will compete against entries from the other services. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service)
