Wynonna Judd, Robin Meade headline Independence Day concert

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga --  Five-time Grammy award winner Wynonna Judd and Robin Meade, anchor of HLN's "Morning Express with Robin Meade" will perform with the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve at this year's Independence Day Concert in Warner Robins July 1.

Lt. Gen. Charles E. Stenner Jr., commander of Air Force Reserve Command, and Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen unveiled the guest artists for the 2011 concert during a joint press conference at the Warner Robins Welcome Center.

"This concert will be a huge boost for the Air Force Reserve, Robins Air Force Base and Warner Robins community," said General Stenner. "We must thank the local community for their superb partnership and continued support."

General Stenner and Mayor Shaheen agreed this concert is a great way to celebrate the freedom our country enjoys thanks to the men and women in uniform deployed to maintain and protect that freedom.

General Stenner credited the partnerships with the Air Force Reserve, the Band of the Air Force Reserve, and Robins Air Force Base and the Warner Robins community to bring this level of talent to Middle Georgia.

Wynonna has a long history supporting the Air Force Reserve. In 2008 she teamed up with the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve in the Holiday Notes from Home special in Nashville and in the same year performed a special Salute to the Military concert celebrating Alaska's 50th anniversary of statehood.
"It's always a pleasure working with Wynonna," said Maj. Don Schofield, Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve commander. "We're thrilled to team up with her once again to show our thanks to our friends and neighbors in Middle Georgia and our audiences overseas. This concert is an opportunity to show our appreciation for their support and service."

Ms Meade, a new talent on the Country music scene, will step away from her anchor duties at HLN to perform with the Reserve Band and emcee a portion of the Independence Day concert.

The free concert at Warner Robins' McConnell-Talbert Stadium starts at 8 p.m. and features a night of music, fireworks and family entertainment. Festivities begin with the National Anthem and an F-15 fighter jet flyover.

"Last year was another stadium-packed crowd, and this year we are expecting a much larger attendance for this Independence Day celebration," said Allen Tatman of the Warner Robins Civitan Club.

"Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and the talent of the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve, we have an incredible celebration planned," said Mr. Tatman. "The Middle Georgia community will have front-row seats to a fireworks display that gets bigger and better every year."

Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the infield. Food and beverages will be available at concession stands. Bags and containers are subject to search. No pets, no alcoholic beverages or no glass containers are allowed at this family event.

The annual Independence Day Concert has been held in the city for more than 25 years and usually draws a crowd of more than 20,000 people.
