Reservists not part of early retirement offer

  • Published
The Air Force is offering a Temporary Early Retirement Authority to about 250 selected active-duty staff, tech and master sergeants with 15 to 19 years of service.

Air Force reservists, including those in the Active Guard and Reserve, are not eligible for the program, which stops taking applications April 30.

The Air Force plans to retire Airmen approved for the program by Sept. 1 as it prepares for more reductions starting in October.

Air Force officials said the Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard are working together to ensure the total force is prepared for manpower reductions in fiscal 2013.
