Tuskegee Redtails

The 302nd Fighter Squadron was one of four African-American fighter squadrons to serve in combat with the famed 332nd Fighter Group. These Tuskegee Airmen were renowned for their achievements in the European and Mediterranean Theaters of Operation during World War II. They inspired generations of Americans with their spirit and skill as warriors and their end-less courage to win against adversity. The 302nd Fighter Squadron--itself known for speed, purpose, and daring--became the first unit in Air Force Reserve history to acquire the F-22A Raptor mission in October 2007. Today, Reserve Citizen Airmen preserve their past by carrying the heritage of the “Red Tails” forward with same professionalism, character, and values.
