Chief Master Sgt. Gordon M.R. Wager serves as Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 927th Air Refueling Wing, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. The wing supports Air Mobility Command's global air refueling requirements in peace, war, national emergencies, and humanitarian efforts. Additionally, the 927th Air Refueling Wing is manned with more than 1,200 assigned wing personnel throughout 10 squadrons, three groups supporting sixteen KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft with an aeromedical evacuation mission. Chief Wager advises the wing commander and staff on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale, and welfare of approximately wing personnel and serves as their liaison to the commander. He also serves as the functional manager for wing’s senior enlisted leaders and squadron first sergeants.
Chief Master Sergeant Wager hails from Port Huron, Michigan where he enlisted in 2004. His background includes various duties across the full spectrum of security forces career field. Continuing his strategic leadership, he was selected as additional duty First Sergeant. During his term, he was the principal advisor to unit and wing commanders on matters of health, morale, welfare, and discipline of assigned personnel. Prior to his current position, he served as Command Chief, 445th Airlift Wing and IMA, AFLCMC Command Chief, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. CMSgt Wager was deployed in support of Operation CORONET OAK, and completed overseas assignment at Osan Air Base, South Korea.
In his civilian capacity, Chief Wager works as a Department of the Air Force civil servant performing duties as Director, Information Protection, AFLCMC/WL, Mobility Directorate.
