Colonel Joshua N. Garrison is the Commander of the 960th Cyberspace Wing at Joint Base San Antonio-Chapman Annex, Texas. The unit is the only cyberspace wing in Air Force Reserve Command. As wing commander, Colonel Garrison directs the operations and staff activities of 16 direct reporting units and 1,300 personnel. The missions of these units include defensive cyber-operations (DCO); combat communications; command & control of cyber operations and DCO – Response Actions; nation-wide communication infrastructure management; cyber defense analysis; network operations; Initial Qualifications Training for cyber across seven weapons and dynamic support to offensive cyber operations. His responsibilities also include the coordination, organization and presentation of AFRC cyber forces to 16th Air Force, Air Forces Cyber, and United States Cyber Command.
Colonel Garrison was selected to attend Officer Training School and graduated in May 2001. He went on to complete Basic Communications and Information Officer Training at Kessler AFB. He served on active duty from 2001 to 2005 and joined the Air Force Reserve in 2005. Colonel Garrison has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership. In 2018, he also served a tour in Germany at Ramstein AB in support of the European Deterrence Initiative. He is married to the former Lachanda C. Nelson of Washington, D.C. Prior to his current position, Colonel Garrison was the Deputy Commander of the 960th Cyberspace Wing and prior to that the Commander of the 860th Cyberspace Operations Group, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
