Colonel Scott W. Hurrelbrink is Commander of the 919th Special Operations Wing, United States Air Force Reserve, Duke Field, Florida. His unit provides capabilities to support a variety of conventional and unconventional air and ground mission sets including planning, strike, advising, security forces, engineering, communications and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. He ensures the organization, training, equipping and readiness of 1,700 Air Commandos for worldwide deployments in support of combatant commands and joint and coalition special operations. The wing employs and provides training in AC-130J, U-28, C-146 and MQ-9 aircraft.
Colonel Hurrelbrink received his commission in 1994 from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. During his career, Colonel Hurrelbrink has held positions throughout the wing, major command, combatant command and with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A graduate of both Specialized Undergraduate Navigator Training and Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training, he has operational experience in fighter, bomber, tanker, trainer and lift aircraft.
