Col. Amy M. Meier is the Deputy Commander, 908th Flying Training Wing, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. She leads the Air Force's MH-139A Formal Training Unit, responsible for preparing the next generation of helicopter aircrew. In addition, she ensures the war-fighting capability of the 908th's Aeromedical Evacuation and Agile Combat Support units to support National Command Authority taskings worldwide.
Col. Meier entered the Air Force in 2000 and received her commission through the United States Air Force Academy. As a helicopter pilot, she previously served on active duty as a mission, instructor, and evaluator pilot in the UH-1N Huey. Col. Meier has also served as a staff officer at the wing and Air Staff levels, to include duties as an AF/A8 Combat Air Forces and Nuclear Deterrent Operations Programmer and member of the AF/A8 Commander’s Action Group, the Pentagon, Washington D.C. In addition, she served as the AF/A3 Chief of Global Precision Attack Force Readiness IMA, AF/A3 Chief of Operational Training Infrastructure Aggressor Policy at the Pentagon, Washington D.C, as well as the Senior IMA to the Deputy Director, USAFE-AFAFRICA A3/10, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Prior to her current position, the colonel served as the Deputy Commander, 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Space Force Base, Florida.
