Colonel Ramil C. Codina is the Command Surgeon, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB Georgia. The Air Force Reserve Command is one of 10 Air Force major commands with 70,000 Reserve Airmen and more than 300 aircraft among three numbered air forces, 34 flying wings, 10 flying groups, a space wing, a cyber wing and an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance wing. The command provides support to all the other Air Force major commands and to combatant commanders across the globe.
Col. Codina graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences in 1995, and from the University of Minnesota where he received his Master of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Management in 2009. He received a direct commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in November 1997.
Prior to his current assignment, Codina served as the Commander, 92d Medical Group, Fairchild AFB, Washington. He commanded a group consisting of two squadrons delivering highly reliable patient-centered healthcare services to 34,000 beneficiaries assigned to the 92d Air Refueling Wing, 18 partner units, and the local community. His team of 280 personnel restored health, promoted population health through prevention, and enhanced human performance. He oversaw an $85 million financial program to ensure readiness and operational support for the full range of military missions.
